even plants need houses.
it was early spring and my cold frame was in a state of needing repair. as the cold frame wasn’t very tall, growing taller delicate plants [like orchids] were out of the question – meant to be relegated to a sunny window sill. essentially, i needed a taller cold frame. with some leftover lumber and an old window, i thought – lets do this!
no plans to share – this is 100% organic design. good, bad, and [adorably] ugly.
plastic walls let in light – a corrugated metal back panel would a) reflect light + b) add warmth. to ensure it didn’t get too warm, the triangles under the top window are chicken wire. I left ‘posts’ to bury in the ground to ensure it never tips over.
with two active whippets, you never know.
